Supplier classification is key to keeping things structured and efficient when managing a tour. In my software, we categorize suppliers based on the type of service they provide.

Here’s a breakdown of what each category means:

Food Supplier – Any provider of meals with a physical location, such as restaurants, catering services, or food halls.

Attraction – Museums, landmarks, guided activities, theme parks—anything that enhances the travel experience.

Lodging – Hotels, hostels, resorts, and any form of accommodation.

Transportation – From private transfers to large coach operators, covering all mobility needs.

Staff – Any human resource involved in delivering the experience, such as tour guides, local representatives, or event coordinators.

DMC (Destination Management Company) – A supplier that bundles multiple services from the above categories, acting as a one-stop provider for tour operators.

Why is this classification important?

✔️ It simplifies pricing, contracts, and operations

✔️ It ensures accurate reporting and cost tracking

✔️ It helps automate tour-building processes
